Giving a personal touch to promotional products.

Elaina Durso began her career in marketing in 1990 as the Director of Sales & Marketing for an international marketing firm located in Larchmont, NY. After much coaxing from her friends to get into sales, she took a job with Ha-Lo in 1997 (then the largest promotional products distributor in America). At Ha-Lo, Elaina broke the record for her territory in her first year with $1.8m in sales and she was hooked. “I love my job”, she remembers saying and to this day feels the same. After leaving Ha-Lo in 2000, Elaina worked for Cyrk (another industry giant at the time) and then began Jade Promotional Marketing in 2002. “I never thought I was cut out for sales. I’m not the high pressure type”, says Elaina. But she quickly learned you don’t have to create pressure to be a good salesperson. “I prefer to work as a team with my clients. Their best interest is my main consideration. I honestly don’t feel like I’m in sales, I feel like I work jointly with my clients – I’m just an extension of their company helping them come up with the best products to promote their business.”
